Autopsy report reveals Covenant School shooter shot four times by police

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — An autopsy report has been released with information about the Covenant School shooter who was shot and killed by Metro Nashville Police on March 27.
The report from the Davidson County Medical Examiner’s office shows Audrey Hale’s manner of death is classified as a homicide.
Hale sustained one gunshot wound to the torso and left arm, one gunshot wound to the head, graze wounds to the right shoulder, one gunshot wound to the right thigh and minor blunt force trauma to the body.
The 28-year-old gunman was wearing a white shirt containing handwritten words, drawings, and numbers on it, according to the autopsy report. Magazines and other weapons with stickers and drawings were removed from Hale’s clothing on the scene – including a red pocket knife with the name Aiden monogrammed on it.
Days after the shooting, Metro Police confirmed Hale fired 152 rounds total, killing three nine-year-old students and three adults. Police say it took officers 14 minutes to respond to the school and take out the shooter.
A judge on Monday denied a recent motion regarding an elementary shooting which requested court pause on a discussion surrounding Hale's journals. The organizations that appealed the motion appealed the judge's decision to allow Covenant parents to intervene and explain why they do not want the writings released.
